An avid diver and experienced teacher, Randy Evans has an extensive resume in the field of diving. His love for teaching, and passion for giving back to the community turns even a classroom into a place of discovery. Beginning in 1984 in the Catawba River to West Palm Beach, he was captivated from the start. Gaining passion with each dive, he graduated to Dive Control Specialist in 1988, then SSI and Nitrox instructor in 1990. However, he couldn‘t stop there. Advancing with Dan O2 in 1993, NASDS Instructor in 1995, Red Cross First Aid CPR & AED instructor in 1999, he reached a special calling in 2001, as an instructor trainer. You can’t be around him long without hearing the phrase, "The more you know, the more you will enjoy diving." And that’s what he does. Filling the ocean with safe, knowledgeable divers who make the most of this rewarding venture.

Mikel grew up in Jacksonville Florida and started diving at a the age of 15 while ocean fishing with his father. Many of his early dives were no more than retrieving a tangled anchor or sitting on the bottom watching the fish swim but he was hooked. It was only later in life that Mikel found his real passion for the underwater world and the desire to share that special place with others as an instructor. In 2021 he earned the certification and role of Open Water Instructor. Mikel's on a mission and ready to share his knowledge and love of the water with all those ready to learn!
Mike was certified in 1997 when decided to do his "senior exit project" in high school on the safety of diving and has been diving ever since. Mike has continued his education and is currently an Assistant Instructor. Mike has also ventured into the technical diving arena when he is not working with new divers. He is a fun loving guy that will always bring a laugh to the table. He has an uncanny way of making our new divers feel comfortable in the water even if it takes them a little longer to get the hang of diving. During the week he is an I.T. Network Administrator and is always the person to get his hands on the new dive computers that come into the shop to test them out and give his honest opinion of them.
